The weather is finally starting to warm up and that means it is time to start thinking about fun summer activities! One of our favorites is going on a treasure hunt. No, not the kind where you have to dig through the sand for hours looking for old bones (although that can be fun too). We are talking about the kind of treasure hunt where you use a map and clues to find buried treasure!
Treasure hunts are a great way to explore new places and learn a little bit of history along the way. They are also super fun for kids (and adults) of all ages. Today, we are going to tell you about our experience with the Treasure Hunt in Pennsylvania.
What is the Treasure Hunt in Pennsylvania?
The Treasure Hunt in Pennsylvania is a four-part treasure hunt that takes place across the state. Each clue leads you to a different location where you will find more clues until you finally reach the buried treasure!
The first part of the treasure hunt takes place in Philadelphia where you will search for clues at Independence Hall, Benjamin Franklin’s grave, and other historic sites. The second part takes you to Pittsburgh where you will visit places like the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Point State Park
The third part of the hunt leads you to Hershey where you cansearch for clues at Hersheypark, Chocolate World, and other sweet spots. The fourth and final part brings you back to Philadelphia where you will uncover the remaining clues at locations like the Liberty Bell and Elfreth’s Alley—the oldest street in America!
How Do I Play?
You can purchase a map and clue sheet online or at one of the participating locations. Once you have your materials, just follow the instructions on the clue sheet until you reach the final destination. The first person or team to find the buried treasure wins a prize!
Our Experience with the Treasure Hunt in Pennsylvania
We had so much fun completing this treasure hunt! It was a great way to explore different parts of Pennsylvania and learn about some of its history along the way.
